Help women in the developing world access contraception when, and where, they need it.

PSI addresses major health challenges in the developing world, e.g. family planning, HIV/AIDS, maternal health, and common causes of child mortality.

Every day Aggie Phiri (pictured above) wakes up at 5 am, worrying about rural women in Zambia—women who married early and have 16 children, women struggling with unintended pregnancies, and women with no access to family planning. Then, she puts on her dancing shoes and gets to work.

Aggie, who has been a midwife for more than 34 years, educates people with song and dance. In just a year and a half, PSI midwives like her helped 78,530 women safely avoid pregnancy.

For Aggie, there is no uncertainty about how women view her work: "When you see them dance, you know they really appreciate the service."

Population Services International combats major health challenges in the developing world such as a lack of family planning, HIV/AIDS, maternal health, and the greatest threats to young children, including malaria, diarrhea, pneumonia and malnutrition. By marketing affordable products and services, PSI makes it easier for people in the developing world to lead healthy lives and plan the families they desire.
